MBA franchise expert Kevin B. Murphy, known in the industry as Mr. Franchise, is an international franchise expert, former franchise owner and San Francisco franchise attorney. Drawing on three decades of franchise industry experience and a 30-year law practice of 100% franchise law, Mr. Franchise is retained to review documents, do a case analysis and develop effective and successful legal strategies in franchise lawsuits. Three decades of successful consulting and advice, as well as franchise expert witness deposition and trial testimony in litigation, arbitration and disputes covering all aspects of a franchise relationship, license agreements, franchise agreements, franchise disclosure documents, custom, practice and standard of care in the franchise industry, contracts of sale, regulatory compliance, franchise misrepresentations, state registration procedures, earnings claims, territorial encroachment, disguised franchises, marketing materials, advertising funds, intellectual property, operations manuals, training programs, support issues and organizational development.

Franchise Owner

Established and launched the first interior door replacement company franchise. Organized all franchise department functions and instructed staff attorneys in the preparation of Franchise Offering Circulars, contracts, license agreements, filing registration applications, protecting intellectual property assets, and implementing a disclosure compliance program to manage legal documents, organize files and control dissemination of information.

Selected and retained as the premier U.S. franchise expert by the Jordan Intellectual Property Association to speak at their franchise symposium in Amman, Jordan in 2008.

Retained as the premier U.S. franchise expert by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a specialized agency of the United Nations, Geneva, Switzerland, in 2010 to help draft and edit a manuscript, “IN GOOD COMPANY Managing Intellectual Property Issues in Franchising,” that was published in 2012.
